Livin'

Right now I am laying, well sitting, well actually something in between, on a couch at my sisters place in San Diego california, watching a rather terrible "the mist". I have been watching it for a few minutes now, but my mind has been racing all evening to a point where I can't really watch, well anything.

Home Sweet Home

I was born in California, June 25th 1989 to be exact. And I decided to move back there(here) about two weeks ago, bought a ticket about fifteen days ago, and moved here about two week ago. Pretty spur of the moment, but relative to the rest of my life, this move was actually a very planned decision. It's pretty awesome out here, and I am going to miss my friends that are still stuck in the center of the United States...

Bamboozled

A Festival, Bamboozle to be exact, is always crazy. Bamboozle is a festival held once a year in the parking lot of the Giant's Stadium. I went last year and met a lot people in the industry and worked throughout the two day fest. It was lots of fun, but very hectic and rushed. About 80k kids showed up for this two day event this year and it was nothing short of entertaining. I flew out to my Kyles place and drove down with him- he runs that Electric Zombie clothing company, remember him?

All Time Low

A few days ago I had a shoot with All Time Low for their new album's press images. I really like shots and can't wait to post them. However they are not edited/ released yet, so behind the scenes images will have to do for now.
We did the shoot at the All State Arena, right outside of Chicago in Rosemont, Illinois. I only had a few spots to choose from to shoot that were inside of the venue. I would usually do most of the shoot outside or around the venue, however it was very windy that day. Once you get to shooting larger bands, anywhere you go in public kids/fans try to get really close to them and...I have no idea what they want to do once they actually get close to them now that I think about it. Maybe hug them? I have only seen everything up to the imagined hug- screaming, yelling, etc etc. Hopefully just hug them.

Ace Enders TV

I am done with my Ace Ender's tour dates and taking a quick breather in Florida before I head out on my next tour. I will be riding with Silverstien for a few days, and then with Before Their Eyes for the remaining week or so on the tour.
I did a fun little interview with Ace while I was out with him. I am not much of a talker, but check it out if you want on aceenders.tv, or see below.

Two in One

Just finished getting through TSA at the Airport, and I am off for another month long tour. Every time I pass through the x-ray I have to wait about 10 minutes for the boss to show up and make sure my vagabond is okay to take on the plane, which it is, every time.

Thursday on a Tuesday

There are a few bands that I grew listening to and it's always a blast when I get the opportunity to work for them. One of the bands on towards the top of the list goes by the name of Thursday.
Once I am able to post the final shots I will, here is what I've got for now....

Cover Shoot Uncovered

The Cover

The Setup

Alright, this is only the birds eye view, so Ill start up top and go to the bottom and explain everything.
The top two bare strobes are about four feet off the ground and shot towards the floor right by the subjects legs. The two umbrellas are about 10 feet in the air, and angled down towards the subjects shoulders. The umbrella on the right had a giant flag, about 12 feet by 14 feet hung up to behind it to kill any spill on the pillar in the background.
The top most beauty dish is aimed almost straight down and has a diffuser on it. There is a flag placed in between this dish and the front most dish. The front dish is bare, and shot just at the front man.
The soft box in front was at about floor level and aimed a little it up at the subjects legs.
I shot this with a telephoto lens from across the room to make them look as close together as possible. I think my camera was set at about 500 ISO to make sure there was some ambient in the shot behind the models.
Any questions?
